Thank you.

This book explains the installation and use of basically the following VMWare products: ESX and ESXi VSphere Client VCenter Server The author provides detailed explanations of the purpose of each product individually, but doesn't really explicitly explain how they're related to each other - you have to infer that from the text. Basically, ESX and ESXi are hosts on which virtual machines are created and run.

I'm not actually a vSphere admin, but I got this book to learn more about something I use every day. The level of detail and general tone got me interested in a bunch of the topics that I otherwise wouldn't have cared about.
